Association for International Integrated Medicine
(AIIM)
        Mission Statement

The Association for International Integrated Medicine was formed to promote
the integrated of eastern traditional and present day western medical science
in order to help form one complete medical science. Since 70% of entire world
population had relied on a traditional medicine.

Eastern medicine treats an illness of the whole body according to the progression
and changing stages of a disease. While western medicine copes with
each individual part of the body and mind separately, it often
neglects treating a patient as a whole human being. Eastern medicine
has mind-centered training to unify mind and body, from Japanese
Zen-meditation, to Chinese Chi and Indian Yoga.

In traditional medicine, there are many medical herbs and/or exotic
dietary supplements are used to treat a variety of vague physical and
medical issues, enhancing bodily strengths, allergies, inflammatory
disease, dementia, neuro-psychosis and geographically localized
diseases, but the evidence based study is required by modern
pharmacology.

Western medicine is less inclined to diagnose and treat unclassifiable
medical problems and by comparison, has effectively utilized specific
treatments such as preventative vaccinations, antibiotics, general
anesthesia, sedatives, radial and chemotherapy, endoscopic and
endovascular procedures, minimally invasive procedures organ
transplants, and is still developing remote control robotic procedures,
gene therapy and reproductive surgery.

The successful integration of Kampo, tradition Chinese medicine,
Ayurveda and modern western medicine requires the use of common terms
for diagnosis and treatment. It is important for us to understand the
ancient terms and concepts regarding illness and its relation to the
cosmos used within traditional eastern medicine, in order to translate
and interpret those ideas into modern medical terminology.

The Association for International Integrated Medicine is committed to
inspiring the international community of health care professional to
consider a more holistic approach combining the best ideas of eastern
and western medical practices for patient-oriented treatment.
